Lets get started!

Lets get started!

Story:

Yes, and we say it about million times, your game will fail if you don't make a good story line. Here's an example how the story should NOT been made:'' You are a prisoner, you don't remember anything, you have to escape.'' THAT'S NOT A STORY LINE! You have to add many twists and a really long story line. Just like Mike said, sit down take a pen, paper and start thinking! Also DON'T use story line like this one:'' In this game you are lost somewhere on the earth, maybe in it. You play as UnKnoWn DuDe...blah... blah...'' THAT'S NOT A STORY LINE! it's a description for the game.

Graphical things:

There are some things you have to know about the graphical look of your game.

  1. Try making as many things own, not just taking off the resource page or asking somebody. of course asking somebody is bit better then taking from the home page.
  2. Add shading, yes, we know it is kind of hard, but just practice! I'm not a guy who can do the shading super duper uber awesome, but try it! Even I am getting better every-time.
  3. Also just editing Pierre's work is good, just make it look more like your own. Not just recoloring.

Gameplay:

The gameplay is a very important thing, don't make boring scripts - a message box and then show shop, script end, no that's not the best way to make a game. But remember, the scripting is only one part of the game the second is way better, the things how its done, like if it is a shooting game then the shooting. Another thing to remember - 001 is a action/rpg gamemaker, so those are the genres to make most easy. One time i tried to make an arcade like shooter, it was hard, and one day the project got deleted (i don't know why), the shooting was kinda messy, because, the game was a ''take cover, shoot, take cover''. If you really know the best way how to make a other genre game then that awesome.

Last tip: Work hard ;)
