Click here to discuss "Gongo Warrior" on the forums.Long ago, there once existed a mythical place called Gongo. It is a vast floating island that is surrounded by waterfalls. The island is covered with lush jungles and the villagers there were always able to find food and live in peace. One day an evil swordsman called Hazheth came to the island and wished to control it. He started killing people and enslaving them with evil. Some people fought against him, but they were no match against his sword, or his magic. A temple priest in the Temple of Wisdom had predicted Hazheth's coming and also predicted that someone would rise from among the villagers to defeat him. Another priest predicted that Hazheth would return very soon and destroy all of Gongo.
Ironically the day after you are born Hazheth leaves the island without a trace, temporarily restoring peace. But during his time there many started following him. A group called the Brotherhood of the Shadow swore allegience to Hazheth in hopes that they would be spared upon his return. They started guarding anything that might be used to stop Hazheth including the artifacts and treasures in all of the temples. You are a villager who shows promise with a sword and bow, so your elders send you down-river to the Temple of Wisdom to recover the artifacts that are there-- so that the Gongo warrior can use them when he arrives. There are magical jewels that are kept in the most guarded parts of the island that are supposed to aid the gongo warrior in his battle against Hazheth. Magic in the game is accomplished through mathematical equations for the most part.
