Note: This game is centered around violence and history (two alike items, eh?). I would advise you not to venture further into this thread if you do not like those two elements in a game.
So I've begun work on this new game I am currently calling The Hoplite. My main goal is to create a solid game that shows the power of 3D renders as embellishment and also characters, as all embellishment and character sprites are produced as image sequences in a 3D program. Although right now it's less plot, more fighting, I will be working on making it more of a strategic and plot-based game. Here are some graphics from the game:
Some Units (not at this angle in-game):
Some iso-esque renders:
Sprites Created: ~12
Gametime: >15 mins.
-High-quality Isometric-esque Graphics
-Custom sound fx
-Lots of combat
-Each 'Front' has a far different objective
-Set in Ancient Greece; Designed to be (somewhat/a little) historically accurate
Soundtrack (several selections):
- Code: Select all
Version 1.01 (BETA 5) is the latest build. Please upgrade if your version is from before 1/29/12.
Updates over 0.97a:
-New sprites: Hoplite2, Hoplite3, Horseman (commander), Amazon, Skeleton.
-Start of the Quest for the Three Relics.
-About six more maps (at least six more planned).
-Various fixes and balancing changes.
WASD/Arrows OR Left mouse button for movement.
Left CTRL OR RMB for attack.
1 and 2 on the keyboard to eat an apple or piece of meat, respectively.
ESC to bring up the personal menu.
PLEASE give feedback and rate the game. You are welcome to give feedback in the forum topic, via a PM or email, or on the game page itself.
